Face The Music 2013, Melbourne’s own contemporary music conference, will be held on November 15th and 16th at the Arts Centre Melbourne.
Face The Music features 150 high profile music industry leaders in fields such as label management, PR and media. The big guest announcement is coming on September 11th, but a sneak peek of the announcement includes: Dan Rose (the ARIAs), Sophie Miles (Mistletone Records), Marcus Teague (The Vine), Tim Morrison (Trial Kennedy) and Ross Knight (Cosmic Psychos).
Topics will explore “interesting new approaches to staple activities” such as marketing, artist management, booking gigs, recording techniques and bringing your music to a global music market. It will also feature “fresh sessions” on trends such as the resurgence of vinyl, reality TV and the algorithms of streaming.
This year, Face The Music will partner with Arts Centre Melbourne’s Digital Learning Hub to expand the stream of creative development workshops and masterclasses. These will include hands-on music making, songwriting and beat-making. The format includes forums, presentations, networking, facilitated meetings, practical music workshops and the debate.
